FALL FAIR RULES & REGULATIONS​

Please Read Carefully

Each subscriber of $5.00 per annum shall be a member for the current year.  Persons not now members who desire to exhibit may be enrolled as a member on payment of a $5.00 membership entitling them to exhibit.

All exhibits must carry an entry tag on which will be written the owner’s name,  address & membership number, as well as the kind and variety of the exhibit.  Entry tags will be available from the secretary or at the show.

On the Thursday before the Fair, the hall will open from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. to receive inside entries as well as on Friday from 9:00 a.m. to noon.  Judging will start at 1:30 p.m.  Livestock and all outside entries will be judged on Saturday or Sunday as specified in the Fair program


Outside entries will be accepted Saturday until 1:00 p.m.  Judging will begin thereafter.

No exhibit in the hall or on the grounds will be allowed to be removed before 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, unless otherwise stated.  Anyone removing their exhibits shall forfeit their prize money.
Specimens of all work shown must be bona fide work of the exhibitor and not shown at one of our previous Fairs.

All stock must be bona fide property of the exhibitor at the time of entry to entitle him to receive a premium.  Crop, flower and vegetable exhibits must have been grown by the exhibitor during the current year.

  1. Should there be only one exhibit in a class, the judges must use their own discretion in giving awards.
  2. Bulls, one year or over must be carefully secured to prevent the possibility of an accident.
  3. All registration papers must accompany pure bred cattle when exhibited.
  4. The stock on the show grounds shall only be known to the judges by ticket number.
  5. No article will be admitted with name or initial or distinguishing mark showing.
  6. Only judges and judges’ assistants will be allowed on the floor while judging is taking place. Furthermore, any person interfering by conversation or otherwise with the judges before judging is completed, shall forfeit his or her right to any prize awarded him or her.
  7. A junior in this book refers to competitors 18 years of age and under, and may only enter in the junior work or their grade level and small animal classes.  There will be no membership fee for Junior Section.
  8. The Directors will take every precaution to prevent accidents, but WILL NOT be held responsible for any accidents or loss of items from the grounds or building.
  9. From each member taking prize money, the sum of $5.00 shall be deducted for membership in the Society for the next year.
  10. Any items that you would like to DONATE for auction on Saturday afternoon would be appreciated.  Please obtain coloured stickers from Directors and place on entry tags.

Points will be awarded as follows:

1st Prize                       3 points
2nd Prize                      2 points
3rd Prize                       1 point

JUNIORS

1st Prize                       3 points
2nd Prize                      2 points

A “Most Outstanding” ribbon will be given for the most outstanding entry in each  section, to be chosen by the judges, sponsored by Porquis Agricultural Society.

EXHIBITOR MUST ENTER AT LEAST THREE CLASSES TO QUALIFY FOR A TROPHY OR SPECIAL PRIZE IN MOST SECTIONS
