Rules for showing vegetables​​

  • All vegetables, unless VERY large, are to be displayed on white cardboard or paper trays.  NO STYROFOAM!!
  • Tomatoes must show piece of stem attached
  • Cucumbers must show piece of stem attached
  • Cabbage must show outside leaves
  • Corn must not be stripped, but some seed must show
  • Potatoes must not be scrubbed.  They may be brushed lightly with an old wool sock
  • Onions must not be peeled, quarter the stock and twist to dry
  • Lettuce must show outside leaves unless condition of leaves is such as to distract from its appearance
  • Peppers must show piece of stem attached
  • Carrots, beets, turnips and parsnip must show 2” of foliage
  • Celery must show some roots
Entries not complying with the rules will be disqualified.Must be a present member.
